Spanish walnut bargueño, 19th century, polychrome details, bronze and iron appliqués

Impressive 19th century Spanish walnut wood bargueño, from the city of Bargas.

It features a hinged door, an interior with multiple drawers and compartments, all deeply polychromed and entirely hand-painted. The front door is adorned with iron handles and decorative elements of fabric and solid iron. Its base consists of turned columns and others fluted in a spiral pattern, with a central railing at the base carved and decorated with gilt details.

Its legs simulate the claws of a lion and it has two extendable supports with lion sphinxes to support the hinged door.

Measurements: 1.40 cm high x 45cm deep x 95cm wide.
