Pewter Peasant Couple by French sculptor Adolphe Jean Lavergne (1863-1927)

Two sculptures that evoke genuine tenderness upon closer inspection. They depict a peasant couple from the early 20th century, gazing at each other and sharing a tender moment, the man's gallantry and the woman's coquetry evident in their affection. Both sculptures are signed by the renowned French sculptor Adolphe Jean Lavergne (1863-1927).
