Napoleon III 'Bonheur du jour' desk

Napoleon III style desk Bonheur du jour Country of origin France, late 19th century.

Upper section with two doors, decorated with flowers. Opening onto an interior shelf. Below, two small drawers, a larger drawer at the top with a writing sled base covered in red velvet. Four legs joined at the bottom by a baton-shaped frame with bronze appliqués.

Materials: brass, bronze, ebonized and gilded wood, hard stone.
